Today's Deep Dive
If you like video content, click here for a video version of this idea.
One thing I've realized is that a lot of times, we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.
It's kinda like that philosophy of how you don't fear the person who's practiced 1000 kicks 1 time, you fear the person who's practiced 1 kick 1000 times...
It's the same thing in business too.
So today, I wanted to share a previous tactic you may or may have not seen me share before...
It's a way to ethically "steal" hundreds of email campaign ideas from a sales page, product page or landing page.
If you or your team practice this ONE method 1000 times, you'll become one of the most feared competitors in your entire industry.
This method is known as the scalping technique, and here's how it works:
To start, what you wanna do is go to your product page, sales page or whatever page you'll be sending people to in your email promo.
Once you have that page up, I want you to open up a Google Doc or a Word Doc or something to take notes with.
Now, to do the scalping, you're basically going to go down that product or sales page and you're going to go line by line and pretty much extract ideas from that page.
This could be like different research studies…
It could be subheadings…
It could be testimonials…
It could be different paragraphs…
It could be even intro sentences to an individual paragraph.
What you're doing is you're just looking for different sentences and things that pop out at you.
Now as you're doing the scalping and you're looking for those different elements, sentences and whatnot, you just put them into your Google Doc or whatever you're taking notes with.
The goal to do the scalping is you should end with about 10 to 12 total ideas that you scalped from the product or sales page and have put into your Google Doc or whatever.
Now what you gotta do is essentially connect those ideas that you generated into some type of template or email formula to basically bring that idea to life.
Whether you want to use:
- a story email,
- problem agitate solution (PAS),
- attention, interest, desire, action (AIDA),
- contrarian
- or anything else like that…
There's all different types of email formulas that you can use to bring your ideas to life.
But the purpose of the scalping is you want to first get those ideas and you want to make that as easy as possible. Because lots of people think they have to look in the news or check their own inbox, and do all these crazy things to generate ideas for their email promos…
But the reality is, you already have those ideas that you can ethically steal from the product page or sales page to begin with.
You just have to do the scalping technique to pull those ideas from that page to begin with.
Hope this was insightful.
If you try this method 1000 times, you'll be really good and probably run circles around your competitors...
And if you're too busy running your own business, that's fine too, because others have already put in the 1000 reps with this method.
By leveraging others' track records, you can actually still run circles around your competitors without doing any work.
You might even get back more time in your busy schedule.
It's possible. I know plenty of people who can do it for you, and I'm just a DM away.
